Whitney Housing Authority The Whitney Housing Authority is a low-income based housing development community, designed to help people in and around the Whitney, Texas area.

The Housing Authority of the City of Whitney rents to single persons, elderly persons, and families who have a household income below 80% of the median income of the area as published annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Full rental assistance is limited to citizens of the United States. Status of certain non-citizens who may be eligible will be verified by the INS. All app

licants must sign an affidavit of citizenship. How do you apply? Applications are accepted at the Administrative Office located at 115 West Polk Ave. Whitney, Texas. Applications must be completed and signed by the Head of Household. Applicants must provide original birth certificates and social security cards for all household members. These will be copied and returned. You will need to bring the addresses of current and previous two landlords, credit references, personal references, and the addresses/social security numbers of the absent parent of any child in the household. Upon review of all documents, you may be required to provide proof of marriage, financial support, or child custody. Incomplete applications will be denied. Applications can be found on the front porch of our office at 115 W Polk Ave.
