On Patriot Day 9/11, several members of Post 51 attended the annual flag lowering ceremony on the the roof of Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in Downtown Los Angeles.

Post's High School Oratorical Contest

The post held it’s High School Oratorical Contest tonight at the Whittier Union High School District offices.
We had seven students from 5 high schools from the Whittier area.
Thanks to Byron Hobbis, post oratorical chairman for the fine job he did to get this program on tonight.
Present were: Commander Louie Adame, District Commander Patrick Dowd, Chaplain Al Granados, Sgt at Arms Robert Sainz, Service Officer Gil Soto, Post Publisher Carlos Zamorano, and Department chaplain Joe Gonzales.
