💜💚 TODAY IS THE BIG GIVING DAY! 💚💜

On Texoma Gives Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible impact of the WFISD Foundation in this special edition of Three with Lee. Dr. Donny Lee talks with WFISD Foundation Executive Director Nikki Davis about how the Foundation supports WFISD teachers and students through:

🎓 Senior Scholarships that help open doors to brighter futures.

💡 IDEA Grants that give teachers resources to turn creative ideas into innovative learning experiences.

❤️ Student Support that helps students learn, grow and reach their full potential.

Dr. Lee also visits with Ben Franklin Librarian Melisse McCartney about a 3D printer purchased through an IDEA Grant THREE YEARS AGO. It’s still being used by students today — just one example of the lasting impact the Foundation can have in our schools!

💜 15 WFISD CAMPUSES EARN PURPLE STAR DESIGNATION! 💜

Wichita Falls ISD is incredibly proud to announce that 15 campuses have earned the Purple Star Campus Designation, a state-level recognition honoring schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.

Congratulations to our Purple Star campuses:

⭐ Booker T. Washington Elementary
⭐ Brook Village Early Childhood Center
⭐ Burgess Elementary
⭐ Crockett Elementary
⭐ Cunningham Elementary
⭐ Fain Elementary
⭐ Fowler Elementary
⭐ Franklin Elementary
⭐ Legacy High School
⭐ Memorial High School
⭐ Milam Elementary
⭐ Rider Middle School
⭐ Scotland Park Elementary
⭐ Sheppard Elementary
⭐ West Foundation Elementary

This past school year marked the first year WFISD had a designated military liaison at each campus as part of our continued effort to better understand and support the unique needs of military-connected students and families.

With Sheppard Air Force Base playing such an important role in our community, this recognition means so much to our district. We are incredibly grateful to our campus military liaisons, staff, military families and our partners at Sheppard AFB for helping us continue to strengthen the support available to those who serve and the families who serve alongside them.

We are proud of how far we’ve come, excited to keep building on this foundation and looking forward to adding even more Purple Stars across WFISD! 💜⭐

📣 WFISD Families: Important Discipline Update

Keeping our schools safe and focused on learning is a priority in WFISD. This year, the district has strengthened its disciplinary response to fighting and mutual combat on our campuses and at school-sponsored events.

⚠️ What families need to know: Students who participate in fighting or mutual combat may now face suspension and/or placement in the District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) rather than In-School Suspension (ISS) as the primary consequence. Fighting is considered a serious violation under WFISD's updated guidelines.

Each situation will be investigated individually. Administrators will consider factors such as self-defense, attempts to de-escalate a situation, injuries, and other available evidence when determining appropriate consequences.

We encourage families to talk with their students about making safe choices, walking away from conflict when possible, and seeking help from a trusted adult before a situation becomes physical.

💙 Fighting and violence have no place in our schools. Thank you for partnering with us to keep WFISD safe and focused on what matters most — learning and student success!
