🚨 How Could Your Nonprofit Help in an Emergency? 🚨

The North Texas Area United Way, in partnership with the City of Wichita Falls Emergency Management and Wichita County Emergency Management, is working to better understand how our local nonprofit community could support residents during a disaster or emergency situation.

By gathering this information now, we can work alongside city and county emergency partners to strengthen coordination, reduce confusion, and improve response when it matters most.

If your nonprofit serves Wichita County and could play a role in an emergency response, we would greatly appreciate your input by June 15 using the link below.

What a great day to get your car washed and give back to the community!

Wichita Falls, let’s give back 💙

Every Tuesday, we donate 50¢ from every wash to United Way.

A clean car that does a little good, too.

Come by and be part of it!

We continue celebrating National Home Visiting Week by recognizing our amazing Wichita Falls Area HIPPY team!

The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program works with parents of children ages 2 to 5, helping prepare them for school and beyond. By equipping parents to be their child’s first teacher, HIPPY makes learning fun, builds confidence, and strengthens families from the very start.

We’re grateful for the dedication and impact our team brings to the community every day.

Wichita Falls Area HIPPY Team was recognized with PAT and NFP by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas Government with a proclamation naming April 20-24th as Home Visiting Week here in Wichita Falls, Texas 🌟🎉

It’s National Home Visiting Week, and we are proud to kick off our celebrations by recognizing our incredible WF Parents as Teachers team. This program empowers parents with knowledge about child development, provides meaningful support, and helps ensure children grow up healthy, safe, and ready to learn. We are grateful for the difference they make in the lives of our families every day.

Our VITA tax preparation appointments are now fully booked for this tax season.

We are incredibly grateful to the trained volunteers who generously give their time to help our neighbors file their taxes at no cost. Because of their dedication, many local households are able to receive the assistance they need.

While we are no longer able to schedule additional in person appointments this season, qualifying households can still file their federal return for free online at myfreetaxes.com.

Thank you to the volunteers who make this important service possible for our community.

We recently held our first Donor Appreciation Dinner. It was an incredible evening honoring some of our community’s VIPs, our Very Impactful People.

We recognized a few outstanding supporters. Atmos Energy was named Corporate Partner of the Year. United Regional Health Care System was our Workplace Campaign of the Year. Wichita Falls ISD received the Award of Abundant Appreciation. Within WFISD, Memorial High School had the highest participation rate, and Career Education Center had the largest campaign contribution. Our Donor of the Year was Richard Haddox.

Thank you to everyone who supports the work of the North Texas Area United Way. We are already looking forward to next year. Every donor makes a difference right here in our own community.

Happy 211 Day, today we honor the incredible impact of 211 services. In 2025 the Wichita Falls 211 center assisted 15,651 callers from the 11 counties we serve in North Texas. They provided support with housing needs, healthcare, and so much more. Our center also assisted 20,300 callers statewide. They connected callers to shelter, food, water, and utilities bills assistance. 211 offers hope when it’s needed most. Thank you to our small but mighty 211 Resource Specialist team. United is the Way to lend a helping hand.

The roads are getting better and the ice is slowly melting, but we just are not quite there yet. Our office will be closed tomorrow, but our staff will continue to make an impact remotely. If you need immediate resource assistance, please call 211.

Additionally, due to ongoing road conditions and volunteer availability, our VITA tax offices have made the difficult decision to also close on Saturday. They will reopen on Tuesday, February 3rd, and our ribbon cutting for this tax year has been postponed.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility. We will share updates as soon as plans are finalized.
