❄️ Winter Weather Reminder from Bowman Volunteer Fire Department ❄️

Freezing temperatures and possible winter weather are headed our way. Please take a few simple steps to stay safe:

• Drip faucets and protect exposed pipes
• Bring pets inside and check on neighbors
• Keep heaters away from flammable items
• Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors work
• Keep blankets, water, and flashlights ready

If traveling, slow down and watch for icy bridges and overpasses.

We’re thankful to serve this community and ask everyone to stay safe and look out for one another.

Behind every helmet is a man or woman who willingly runs toward danger—smoke, flames, toxic chemicals—so others can run away. What many don’t see is the invisible danger that follows them home. The gear, the air, the calls… over time it takes a toll.

Firefighters are at a much higher risk of cancer, not because of lifestyle choices, but because of their selfless service.

This month, and every month, we honor those who have battled cancer, those still fighting, and those we have lost far too soon. We commit to supporting better protection, early detection, clean gear practices, and a culture that prioritizes firefighter health.

Say a prayer for our firefighters and their families. Advocate for their safety. Thank them not only for the fires they put out—but for the years they give up so the rest of us can live safely. 🖤🚒

As Christmas has passed and we step into a new year, the Bowman Volunteer Fire Department wants to pause and say thank you.

We are deeply grateful for our community—your support, your prayers, and the trust you place in us. It is an honor to serve alongside neighbors who care for one another.

We pray this new year brings peace, protection, and God’s blessings to every home. “The Lord bless you and keep you” (Numbers 6:24).

Our hearts are full! Thank you to everyone who came out for Cocoa and Cookies with Santa. This event was a sweet reminder that community is a gift from God—meant to be shared, celebrated, and cherished. “For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20) 🚒❤️
