City of Wichita Falls Animal Services will be **closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.**

Of course, our animals didn’t get the memo. 😂🐶🐱 They still expect breakfast, clean kennels, fresh water, belly rubs, and room service right on schedule! **Our animals will continue to be cared for throughout the holiday—because not everyone gets the day off!** ❤️

🥫🐾 **GOT CANNED PET FOOD? WE CAN PUT IT TO GOOD USE!** 🐾🥫

Have a few cans of dog or cat food sitting in the pantry that your pet turned their nose up at? 😹 Maybe you’d like to pick up a few extra cans the next time you’re at the store?

**Our animals would be very grateful!** ❤️

Over the past few days, we have taken in several **dehydrated and emaciated animals** who could really benefit from canned food as we work to get them feeling better and back on their paws.

🎉🐾 **AUGUST, YOU WERE AMAZING!** 🐾🎉

What a month at **Your Wichita Falls City Shelter!** Thanks to our **Clear The Shelters** event, waived adoption weeks, and an incredible community, we have some BIG numbers to celebrate! 🥳

🏡 **63 ANIMALS FOUND HOMES IN AUGUST!** 🏡

🐶 30 dogs
🐱 26 cats
🐔 4 chickens
🐷 2 pigs
🐍 AND a snake! 😲

Yep…dogs, cats, chickens, pigs AND a snake packed their bags and said, **“SEE YA, SHELTER!”** 😂❤️

Some of you came for one and left with TWO—and we absolutely love that! Thank you to every person who adopted, shared our animals, told a friend, or helped spread the word. **YOU helped make this happen!**

August was great…but we're not slowing down! There are still plenty of animals waiting for their turn. 💙💛

🐾 **Weekly Numbers | August 24–30** 🐾

As we close out August, we have a lot to be thankful for! ❤️

August was a good month for **Your Wichita Falls City Shelter**. During our **Clear the Shelters campaign, 62 animals were adopted!** That means 62 animals were given a new beginning and a family to call their own. 🏡🐶🐱

And we aren't slowing down!

We have more great adoption opportunities coming up, and thanks to a **generous grant from the ASPCA, we will be covering the cost of spaying and neutering adopted animals until the grant funds run out.**

We appreciate the support our community continues to give our animals. **Please keep adopting, fostering and SHARING!** Every share matters.

Whether it's an adoptable animal searching for a forever home or an animal urgently needing a foster, your share could put that animal in front of exactly the right person at exactly the right time.

🐾❤️ **Sweet little Pebbles and her friends are waiting for YOU.**

Waiting for you to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals.

The solution to pet overpopulation begins with all of us:

**SPAY. NEUTER. ADOPT. FOSTER.**

Those four things can make the biggest impact on the lives of animals in our shelter.

Your Wichita Falls City Shelter takes in **300–400 animals every month.** In July alone, **377 animals came through our doors.** But we did not have 377 people come through those same doors to reclaim, adopt, or foster them.

To everyone who did—we appreciate every single one of you. ❤️

We are an **open-intake shelter.** Animals continue to come through our doors whether we have an empty kennel waiting or not. When there aren't enough homes, fosters, rescues, or available space, we are faced with heartbreaking decisions, including euthanasia.

**You can help change that.**

Adopt one. Foster one. Spay and neuter your pets. Help us create the space to save the next animal who needs us.

Because at the end of the day, **isn't helping the animals why we're all here?** 🐾

UPDATE: Piggies are adopted!!

🐷🐷🐓 **THE PIGGIES AND ROOSTER ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FARM!** 🚜❤️
Adoption fees are waived this week.

Come on, y’all—we know there’s a farm out there with room for a few more personalities! 😂

Our **two piggies and one handsome rooster** are still waiting for someone to say, **“Load ’em up!”**

🏡 They must go to a home **outside the city limits**—remember, roosters are not allowed within Wichita Falls city limits.
