We are the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services Center, a division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District. Animal Control Officers work from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday and are on-call Saturday and Sunday. Emergencies are screened via an after-hours eme

rgency phone and on holidays. Saturdays and Sundays, ACOs can be contacted by leaving a voicemail or calling the emergency phone. The Animal Services Center is open to the public 11am-6pm Monday-Friday, and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. If you are looking to adopt, all other pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and current on rabies vaccinations and City licenses (if you live in Wichita Falls). You will also need a pre-paid spay/neuter appointment for the pet you are adopting and will need to provide us proof of the completed surgery within 10 days of adoption. A huge thank you to Stephanie for going above and beyond with yet another donation drive for the animals in our community.

Stephanie works tirelessly to organize these drives to support Wichita Falls Animal Services, Miss Fannie's Friends, and Emily's Legacy Rescue.
This year has been especially challenging, as we are all quite literally drowning in kittens. The need for supplies has never been greater.

These donations truly make a difference, and we are so grateful for Stephanie's kindness, dedication, and commitment to helping animals in need.

🐾 A huge thank you to Eagle Scout Jackson Blake! 🐾

Jackson has shown what it means to serve his community. He first led the effort to build a chicken coop for our shelter, creating a wonderful addition for the animals in our care. He didn't stop there—he also organized a donation drive and delivered much-needed supplies for the shelter animals.

We are incredibly grateful for Jackson's leadership, hard work, and commitment to helping both animals and our community. Young people like him make Wichita Falls a better place for everyone.

Rip has flown the coop and is settling in on his new farm deep in the heart of Texas. We hope you find your Beth Rip.

🐾📊 **First Week of June Shelter Update** 📊🐾

As your **Wichita Falls City Shelter**, we believe in being transparent about the reality of animal sheltering—the number of animals coming through our doors and the different ways they leave our care.

This time of year is especially challenging. Storm season often means frightened dogs escaping yards and more litters of kittens being found by well-meaning citizens. Before picking up kittens, please remember that mother cats frequently move their babies to safer locations and may be nearby waiting for people to leave before returning.

The truth is, we need our community's help.

🐾 Keep pets safely contained.
🐾 Make sure they wear identification.
🐾 Consider fostering through one of our local rescue partners.
🐾 Most importantly—**spay and neuter your pets.**

The single greatest way to reduce shelter overcrowding is preventing unwanted litters before they happen.

❤️🐾 **WOW... JUST WOW!** 🐾❤️

To say we were surprised by Saturday's volunteer turnout would be a vast understatement.

We were humbled and incredibly grateful to welcome **46 amazing people** through our doors, all with the same goal—to help the animals in our community. Seeing so many compassionate individuals willing to give their time and energy to make a difference was truly inspiring.

Thank you for your patience as our staff worked through paperwork and training in groups throughout the day. We know there was a lot to cover, and we appreciate everyone's understanding and enthusiasm.

All volunteer paperwork is currently being processed, and we will contact you as soon as you have been cleared and are ready to get started.

A special thank you goes out to the incredible Airmen from **Sheppard Air Force Base** who rolled up their sleeves and helped tackle some of our larger projects. Your hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made a tremendous impact. You guys are amazing!

The support we received today reminds us that our community truly cares about its animals. While "thank you" doesn't seem nearly enough, please know how much we appreciate every single person who showed up ready to help.

And if the wagging tails, happy barks, and curious kitty purrs were any indication, the animals had a pretty great time too. ❤️🐶🐱

Some dogs leave pawprints on your heart the moment you meet them, and **Sonia** is one of those dogs.

This beautiful **7-year-old Labrador Retriever** is waiting patiently for a home of her own and a family to love. 🥰

Sonia knows what it means to be cared for. She knows the comfort of a soft bed, the joy of a kind touch, and the happiness that comes from being someone's beloved companion. Unfortunately, she finds herself searching for that love once again.
