Handful of pictures from a controlled burn on Eastland Ln. that became out of control! Reminder: keep a close eye on your burn pile/pit. Have an adequate water supply. The larger the burn, the larger amount of radiant heat it puts off, not to mention embers can travel and ignite brush! 05/09/26

On Friday, April 17th, Cameron Gardens VFD responded to reports of a structure fire in the 2000 block of River Rd. Arriving units observed heavy smoke showing from what appeared to be the rear of the structure, however further investigation revealed a large burn pit with debris place too close to the house. Firefighters laid an attack line to protect the structure, then suppressed the large fire in the burn pit that was uncontrolled. Luckily, the structure was not damaged by fire.
Thanks to WCSO, Wichita County Emergency Management, & Friberg Cooper VFD for aid.

Effective immediately, Wichita County Commissioners Court has lifted the burn ban. However please use caution, follow all rules and regulations!

We want to thank these businesses who went the extra mile contributing to our recent BBQ Fundraiser! It was a huge success, and without them , along with EVERYONE who stopped by to eat and support us!, it wouldn’t have been possible! On Saturday, Cadets of the Vernon College Police Academy supported Cameron Gardens Firefighters by ordering to go boxes from our BBQ Fundraiser! One cadet is a member of our department! We want to say thank you to the cadets and Instructors . We look forward to working with our law enforcement brothers when they graduate!
