Harvey Arts Connect and Downtown Wichita - The power of community murals and art - Newton and Wichita, KS

Public art contributes directly to a community’s identity, cultivating a sense of belonging and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. It can also directly impact the environment in which the art is placed by increasing the awareness of drivers and bicyclists and creating a safer and more walkable area for children and families. To help bring this impact to the important downtown areas, two organizations have teamed up to bring public art to their communities. In Wichita, Ks, the Downtown Wichita will develop a new mural near Naftzger Park, inspired by the beauty of Kansas. In Newton, KS, the Harvey Arts Connect will work to save and repair the current Imagineer mural at 3rd and N. Main in downtown Newton.
