Today we say goodbye to our friend in Kansas City, Ryland Lundy. It was obvious through his hard work as President of the Kansas City Young Democrats and National Committeeman for the Kansas Young Democrats, that he had a passion for politics and was an advocate for the Democratic process. But it will be his charisma, huge smile and loving nature towards everyone he met that we will miss the most. Rest in peace Ryland, you are greatly missed!

This week, our Democrat of the Week award is presented in memory of Ryland Lundy, 1982-2015.

The Democratic Party suffered a great loss this week with the passing of our dear friend, and devoted activist, Ryland Lundy. Ryland served as the Kansas City Young Dems President, and the Kansas Young Democrats National Committeeman. His passion for politics and social justice was ever prevalent through the incredible amount of time and energy he dedicated to Democratic Party causes. Despite his hard work, it is his caring smile and warm personality that we will miss most. Ryland never failed to light up a room with his laughter. He was a cherished member of our community, and he will not be soon forgotten. Please take this opportunity to share your fond memories of Ryland in the comments below.

The Kansas Senate passed a bill that would increase college tuition, cost of textbooks, utilities, rent, and gas? It's now in front of the House.
The bill increases sales tax to 6.55% and places a tax on items that previously haven't been taxed.

Take action now and contact your representative to tell them to vote NO! We can not and will not let this bill become a law!

The tax bill being voted on today in the Kansas House is a terrible piece of legislation that taxes all Kansans to the benefit of the few. Use this petition to send an email to your House Rep now!
