Thank you to the Sedgwick County Government Board of Commissioners and the City of Wichita- Government Council for demonstrating support for Registered Apprenticeships, signing proclamations declaring this week, April 26 - May 2, 2026, as National Apprenticeship Week.

National Apprenticeship Week represents a commitment to Registered Apprenticeship as a key strategy to address workforce challenges in high-demand industries, equipping workers for the skilled jobs of today and tomorrow. Thank you to Greater Wichita YMCA, Yingling Aviation, and Kansas Department of Commerce for partnering with with the WA to provide Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in South Central Kansas.

Lots happening this week with the Workforce Center!

Community partners gathered at the Wichita Workforce Center for this month's Workforce 101 Workshop to learn all about services available to the community.

The Butler Workforce Center was represented at the Andover Area Chamber of Commerce Inc Celebrating Nonprofits event at Butler Community College.

The Wichita Workforce Center is currently undergoing renovations to improve the facility and enhance services for the public and the community. The center will remain open and fully operational during construction, although temporary layout changes or minor disruptions may occur. Construction is expected to last approximately 60–90 days.

Your patience is greatly appreciated while these improvements are underway.
