The revenue raised by the passage of a 1% retail sales tax last fall was intended to be used to support a variety of city-wide initiatives. One of those prioritized by the residents was the construction of a new Outdoor Aquatic Center. As part of the development and design of the new facility, we are asking for your input regarding the amenities and features to be included in the design.

Please help us by taking a short survey. The survey will be open March 1st through March 18th.

We were hosted by the City of Sedgwick, Kansas this morning for our regular membership meeting.

✅ We had an update from SG County Emergency Communications Director Elora Forshee on 911 as well as the establishment of the Community Advisor Board.

✅ SG County Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater updated us on on her department's readiness for the upcoming election cycle as well as an update on the future location that her election office will be moving too.

✅ SG County Public Works Director & County Engineer Lynn Packer gave a presentation on an effort underway to work with area cities to annex roadways adjacent to those cities into their incorporated city limits. This regular recurring effort helps clean up jurisdictional and ownership issues that arise as cities expand further into the unincorporated county.

✅ SG County Commissioners Baty and Howell have updates on County Commission activities, as well as important pieces of legislation up for consideration this year in Topeka That will affect member cities and the general public.

We had a tremendous turnout from most SCAC member cities, and we look forward to an even bigger turnout next time when we are hosted by the City of Haysville Kansas on May 11!
