🚨 9 PM LOCKUP REMINDER 🚨

Bel Aire, we need your help!

Recently, our community has seen an increase in vehicles being entered during the overnight hours. A common trend we are seeing is that these vehicles were left unlocked.

Before you call it a night, take a few seconds to:

🔒 Lock your vehicles
🏠 Close your garage doors
👀 Remove valuables from sight
💡 Turn on exterior lights

These simple habits can make a big difference. Criminals often look for the easiest opportunity. Don’t make your vehicle the easy target.

Help us keep Bel Aire safe. Make the 9 PM Lockup part of your nightly routine. 🚔

This Memorial Day, the Bel Aire Police Department pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Please note: The Bel Aire Police Department Administration Office will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Officers will continue normal patrol operations and remain available for emergencies by calling 911.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

We just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out yesterday and made the event such a success. From the kids catching fish for the first time, to families hanging out by the ponds, it was great seeing the community come together for a fun morning outdoors.

A huge thank you as well to all of the first responders and volunteers who helped make the event possible. Events like this remind us how strong our community really is.

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments from yesterday! 📸🐟

Today was definitely a GOODIES kind of day at the police department! 🚔🍎🥯🍫

We started the morning off with a delicious breakfast from Sunrise Christian Academy, who treated our officers and staff to bagels, chocolate milk, orange juice, and apple juice. A huge thank you for helping us start the day off right! ☀️

Later, another thoughtful group stopped by with the perfect mix of something sweet, something healthy, and plenty of fresh fruit. Needless to say, our snack table is looking pretty impressive today! 🍓🍪🍎

We truly appreciate the kindness and support from our community. Gestures like these mean more than you know and remind us why Bel Aire is such a special place to serve. 💙

🌪️ A Tornado Watch has been issued for Sedgwick County to include the Bel Aire area until 1:00 a.m.

⛈️ Please stay weather aware throughout the evening and overnight hours. If possible, stay home and avoid unnecessary travel as storms move through our area.

🏠 Make sure you have a plan to seek shelter quickly if conditions worsen or a warning is issued. The safest place is an interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building, away from windows. Put as many walls between you and the outdoors as possible.

📱 Monitor trusted weather sources for updates and have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts.

⚠️ Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay safe, Wichita.

🎓 With all the graduation parties happening this weekend, the Bel Aire Police Department wants everyone to celebrate safely and make it home!

Have fun. Celebrate the accomplishment. Just don’t let one bad decision follow you long after graduation ends.

✔️ Use a designated driver
✔️ Call an Uber or Lyft
✔️ Stay where you are if needed
✔️ Take the keys from impaired friends

And remember… if you’re not 21, you shouldn’t be drinking anyway. 👀

We’d much rather see graduation photos on Facebook than meet you during a traffic stop later tonight.

Drive sober, Bel Aire!

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

On this Peace Officers Memorial Day, the Bel Aire Police Department remembers and honors all fallen law enforcement officers — those who ran toward danger when others ran away, those who gave everything in service to their communities, and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

Their courage will never be forgotten. Their sacrifice will never be taken for granted.

Please join us today in remembering our fallen heroes and keeping their loved ones in your thoughts.

“Honor • Respect • Remember” 🇺🇸🖤💙
