“Un-masking the Facts”. An article from McClatchy news papers, Wichita Eagle and Kansas City Star, attempted to mask the real numbers behind the Covid-19 pandemic. The article by the Sentinel, as reported again, on McClatchy’s further attempt to make excuses for the KDHE numbers. The Sentinel article shows the 7 attempts to “cover-up” the data. The citizens and taxpayers of Kansas ask for transparency and honesty from their government agencies and their Governor.

McClatchy-owned Kansas City Star and Wichita Eagle committed multiple acts of journalistic malpractice in defense the Kelly administration's deceptions.

While in Topeka yesterday at the Capitol, for a Senate Commerce Committee hearing/meeting to discuss the issues of the Kansas Department of Labor on Unemployment Insurance benefits, I decided to file for re-election!

Gov Laura Kelly would not allow the Sec of Labor, or anyone from the Department of Labor to appear before us “in person.” These very same people are able to go to the grocery store and elsewhere, but not allowed to be at this meeting to answer questions and help provide solutions to the calamity Kansans find themselves in when attempting to apply for unemployment benefits due to the pandemic.

Governor Kelly, I will be in the KANSAS Senate to continue to provide the checks and balances needed for proper oversight of you and your administration!

Yesterday the Kansas Senate passed the largest tax increase in Kansas history on the middle class in a 22-18 vote. I voted NO on this historic tax vote. If your family makes more than $30K, you'll be impacted by this tax increase. This new tax increase which is retroactive to January 1st, 2017 sweeps money from working families working multiple jobs. Many Kansas families live paycheck to paycheck and this new tax increase only harms them from addressing their needs. This vote put government spending first; and struggling families last. This tax increase is anti-family and anti-worker. I will not stop fighting the recklessness in Topeka which continues to prove to be out of touch with the hard working folks back home.
