From Legacy to Opportunity: Announcing the First Orlando Flores Memorial Scholar

Today, we are proud to announce Tristan Snyder as the first recipient of the Orlando Flores Memorial Scholarship.

Created through a partnership between Orlando’s family and the Kansas Hispanic Education & Development Foundation (KHEDF), this scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It is a long-term investment in leadership, opportunity, and the future of our community.

Orlando Flores left a lasting impact as a student, athlete, mentor, and leader. While his life was tragically cut short, his legacy continues through students who embody the same determination, character, and commitment to serving others.
