Do you know a high school or first-year college student passionate about social justice, democracy, and creating positive social change?

If so, the Feminist Majority Foundation has an exciting opportunity to share.

Their sister organization, Girls Learn International, is hosting a virtual Summer Activist Training Camp (SATC) designed to empower the next generation of activists.

This free online program is open to high school and first-year college students of any gender who are eager to sharpen their advocacy skills.

SATC runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 8 to July 31, 2025.

At SATC, students will:
Learn About Key Issues: Gain a better understanding of the issues that impact our lives, including reproductive rights, the Equal Rights Amendment, LGBTQIA+ rights, voting rights, immigrants' rights, and more.

Develop Organizing Strategies: Learn effective organizing strategies and advocacy skills for successful and impactful advocacy.

Engage with Expert Speakers: Hear from inspiring speakers who will share their experiences and knowledge.

Build a Community: Connect with like-minded peers from across the country, creating a network of young activists passionate about making a difference.

Applications are due June 25, 2025!

Hope you will join us!

11th Annual Gender & Sexuality Conference to be held on the campus of Wichita State University next Friday, 10/18/24.

Join us for a free, interdisciplinary, state-wide professional development opportunity on Friday, October 18, 2024.

The conference brings together scholars, community organizations, and students/future professionals to discuss gender and sexuality-related work and issues in Kansas.

You're welcome to attend the full conference (just register on-site) or just join us for this year's keynote featuring Dr. Meg Paceley, a social worker and scholar engaged in research that examines factors in the social environment (e.g. families, communities) and broader systems (e.g. policies, societal rhetoric) and their relationship to q***r and trans (QT) youth’s mental and physical health. Their keynote, titled "Health, Activism, Community, and Resistance in an Era of Anti-LGBTQ+ Policy, Legislation, and Rhetoric," will take place at 4:00 pm in the Beggs Ballroom of the Rhatigan Student Center followed by a small reception with the speaker.
