Due to recent Kansas law, school districts and educators must limit social media to one-way communication with students. Since we can't always know if we're communicating with a student, we are no longer able to respond to direct messages or comment-based conversations on our social media pages.

It's important to us to provide support when needed. Please contact us at 316-973-4464 or [email protected] if you need assistance.

On the November 3, 2026, general election ballot, Wichita Public Schools will ask the community to consider $615 million worth of projects. The contents of the proposal are especially relevant to our magnet community, as it proposes to rebuild Coleman Environmental Magnet, McLean Science & Technology Magnet, and Black Traditional Magnet. These are already strong programs and the new facilities will help them take their themed focus to new heights! Additionally, Horace Mann Dual Language Magnet will move to the old Hadley Middle School building, giving them much-needed space to expand and serve even more students.

Spaght Science and Communications Magnet is wrapping up their two week coding camp for students. Spaght is the only school in Kansas who has the Code to the Future program, a comprehensive curriculum that immerses students in computer science.

During camp, which expands on what they've learned during the year, students coded their own video games using Scratch and then created code to control their LEGO builds.

Spaght Science and Communications Magnet is the only school in the state of Kansas who has a partnership with Code to the Future. Spaght had their second school-wide showcase today, in which students at every grade level demonstrated their computer science and coding knowledge to parents, BOE members, and other district departments.
