Starting tomorrow 8/14/2026 at 6am until roughly 11am to 12 pm County Road 8 (Oak Grove, West Oak Grove) will be closed due to South West REA replacing a damaged power pole. Some residents on Oak Grove, West Oak Grove, Polk 485, Park Lane, and County Road 219 could loose power for a few hours. Please be patient while the crew works to fix this problem.

Important Water System Notice

To help protect your home's plumbing system, we strongly recommend that a pressure-reducing water regulator be installed on the customer side of the water meter. This device helps regulate water pressure and can reduce the risk of damage to household plumbing fixtures and appliances.

In addition, please use caution when mowing or operating equipment around water meters. Water meters and related equipment can be damaged by lawn mowers, w**d trimmers, and other machinery.

Please Note: Any damage to the water meter or associated devices resulting from mowing or landscaping equipment will be the responsibility of the property owner, including the cost of repairs or replacement.

A big thank you to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry for coming out to Wickes City Park and helping us plant the beautiful trees they generously donated. Their support and hard work will help make our Park even more beautiful for everyone to enjoy for years to come. We truly appreciate the partnership and dedication to keeping our community green and growing.

The Annual Spring Clean Up for the City of Wickes has begun. A dumpster has been placed behind the City shop off of South 2nd Street. Please no tires, oil, wet paint or cement and rocks, of any kind. Please be respectful so we can continue to offer this great service to our community.
