*** First Due Fire πŸ”₯***

Just after 1am this morning, Company 23 and surrounding fire companies were sent to the 300-BLK of Wiconisco St for a house on fire. Chief 23-2 arrived to find a 2 story garage (first floor garage, second floor apartment) with fire showing. The Rescue Company w/4 arrived and immediately began an interior fire attack. The incident last for just under 4 hours. Numerous fire companies responded and we would like to thank them for their dedication to their communities! No injuries occurred at this incident.

Below is a video of 2 of our members and 1 member from company 21. Members found themselves in an intense situation while operating on the second floor of the structure β€” the apartment level. Without warning, fire conditions rapidly intensified, cutting off their primary egress and trapping them between heavy fire conditions and a second-story window. Luckily, a handline was in place and with the members. Immediately they began knocking the fire down so they were able to move their handline to the doorway. Once in a safe area, members regrouped and again went back in to continue fireground operations. No firefighters were injured.

*** Training and Fire Runs ***

Busy day for company 23 on this warm Monday. The day started with a fire alarm in Washington Township (Company 21s Area). Companies investigated and determined a false alarm, then returned to service.

Monday nights are training nights for the company. Tonight members gathered at the firehouse to travel to Williamstown to walk through a local garage. Just after the engine company and rescue company pulled away form the firehouse, the 21-1 Box was dispatched for smoke in a residence. Both engine and rescue responded within seconds of dispatch. The box was quickly held to Company 21 and Company 23 units returned to service.

While both Company 23 and 24 were touring Teters Auto Body, EMS Chief 24-C called out a vehicle accident with injuries in Williamstown Borough. Engine and Rescue 23 responded and arrived quickly with Engine 24. Companies assisted with patient care and clean up before returning to service again.

Today brings the company to 61 calls for the year, a significant increase from last year. Intrested in volunteering? Send us a message!
