*** First Due Fire π₯***
Just after 1am this morning, Company 23 and surrounding fire companies were sent to the 300-BLK of Wiconisco St for a house on fire. Chief 23-2 arrived to find a 2 story garage (first floor garage, second floor apartment) with fire showing. The Rescue Company w/4 arrived and immediately began an interior fire attack. The incident last for just under 4 hours. Numerous fire companies responded and we would like to thank them for their dedication to their communities! No injuries occurred at this incident.
Below is a video of 2 of our members and 1 member from company 21. Members found themselves in an intense situation while operating on the second floor of the structure β the apartment level. Without warning, fire conditions rapidly intensified, cutting off their primary egress and trapping them between heavy fire conditions and a second-story window. Luckily, a handline was in place and with the members. Immediately they began knocking the fire down so they were able to move their handline to the doorway. Once in a safe area, members regrouped and again went back in to continue fireground operations. No firefighters were injured.
We are proud to serve our community and surrounding areas!!
