The Town of Wiggins is officially announcing a major roadway paving project scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026. The infrastructure improvement project is contracted for completion by September 30, 2026.*

This project aims to improve driving conditions, strengthen the roadway, and extend its lifespan. Work will include extensive dirt work, asphalt milling, resurfacing, and adding a sidewalk on the west side of Main Street.

Project Details & Timeline
Start Date: Monday, September 7, 2026
Estimated Completion: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Location: Main Street between Tiger Way and County Road P

Traffic Impact & Detours
Motorists should expect Main Street to be closed for the duration of the project. Suggested detour routes during construction: Traffic from Kiowa Park and others coming from south and west of town should go west on County Road P, and/or north on County Road 3, east on US 6/Central Avenue, then south on Main Street. Those coming from south and east of town should go north on Highway 52 and enter town going west on County Road Q or west on US 6/Central Avenue to Main Street. Please obey all construction signs and traffic signs, particularly speed limit signs. The intersection of Main Street and Central Avenue will be highly congested, so please plan accordingly.

The Town of Wiggins appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve our community's infrastructure. Drivers are reminded to slow down, avoid distractions, and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.

Please direct any questions to the Town Manager, Craig Miller, at 970-483-6161.

Here is a great program that the Town and the Police Department support!

Morgan County is proud to begin a beta testing of a Special Needs Registry in the community of Wiggins. The purpose of the Special Needs Registry is to provide our first responders pertinent information regarding a community member with special needs whether they are young or an adult.

This information is going to be provided through the CAD system the first responders already utilize on a daily basis. Basic information such as where they live, a picture, and emergency contact information will be provided. In addition, information such as the specific disability or need, communication information for the individual, behavioral/ safety information, medical, school/program information, and emergency response information. The information will be gathered by paper form or electronically Special Needs Registry Form .

Each family will also be provided stickers for their homes and cars to alert first responders of a registrant that occupies that dwelling or is a passenger of that vehicle.

As a community we are proud to open up new ways to better serve all that reside in Morgan County and allow first responders pertinent information to assist them on calls.

The Town of Wiggins welcomes Officer Gallegos to our team! When you see him, say "HI!"πŸ‘‹

Please join us in welcoming Officer Anthony (Tony) Gallegos to the Wiggins Police Department!

Officer Gallegos lateraled over from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office. He proudly served as a Detention Deputy at the Morgan County Sheriff's Detention Center, gaining valuable experience and a strong foundation in public safety. He has served as a Patrol Deputy for MCSO and, most recently, was a part-time officer with the Wiggins Police Department.

Just a reminder: starting in April, we transitioned to a new website. One of the reasons we did this was to add more communication channels and share more information with you. Take a look and let us know if there is anything you would like to see added to the website by sending us a direct message.

One new feature is the option to subscribe and get notified about meetings. That link is here: https://wigginsco.community.diligentoneplatform.com/...

You can view live meetings through links on the website, as well as review past meetings. One nice feature is that past meeting videos are time-stamped, so you can go directly to a topic instead of watching the whole meeting. The agenda will open on a split screen so you can see the topics of discussion, and the blue camera icons will take you directly to the portion of the video where that topic is discussed. We hope you try out this new feature as we look for more improved ways to let you know what is going on in Town! See less

The Town of Wiggins congratulates Kalissa Walker and Kebri Walker on their dedication and hard work in becoming Advanced Life Support (ALS) care providers. We are blessed to have them in our community!

The Wiggins Rural Fire Protection District is proud to announce that two of our own have officially become paramedics.

Kalissa Walker and Kebri Walker have dedicated hundreds of hours of hard work to become Advanced Life Support (ALS) care providers, benefiting both the community of Wiggins and all of Morgan County. In addition to volunteering with Wiggins Fire, both Kalissa and Kebri work full-time at the Morgan County Ambulance Service. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to advancing their skills as healthcare professionals.

Kalissa and Kebri, congratulations on taking this next step in pre-hospital medicine. The residents of Wiggins and Morgan County are fortunate to have you.

Great job!
