The Town of Wiggins is officially announcing a major roadway paving project scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026. The infrastructure improvement project is contracted for completion by September 30, 2026.*
This project aims to improve driving conditions, strengthen the roadway, and extend its lifespan. Work will include extensive dirt work, asphalt milling, resurfacing, and adding a sidewalk on the west side of Main Street.

Estimated Completion: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Location: Main Street between Tiger Way and County Road P
Traffic Impact & Detours
Motorists should expect Main Street to be closed for the duration of the project. Suggested detour routes during construction: Traffic from Kiowa Park and others coming from south and west of town should go west on County Road P, and/or north on County Road 3, east on US 6/Central Avenue, then south on Main Street. Those coming from south and east of town should go north on Highway 52 and enter town going west on County Road Q or west on US 6/Central Avenue to Main Street. Please obey all construction signs and traffic signs, particularly speed limit signs. The intersection of Main Street and Central Avenue will be highly congested, so please plan accordingly.
