⚠️ SCAM ALERT FOR VETERANS

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has been made aware of a fraudulent message claiming that Veterans can receive free athletic shoes from VA. This message is NOT from the VA.

Scammers are using this tactic to collect personal information and potentially steal identities.

If you receive one of these messages:
❌ Do not respond
❌ Do not click any links
❌ Do not provide personal information

If you believe you've received a fraudulent message, report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Please help protect fellow Veterans by sharing this information. Stay vigilant and always verify unexpected offers before responding.

Got a notice from the VA Public Affairs Officer. This is reported to be another scam. Be vigilant folks.

The latest fraud tactic targeting Veterans involves sending fake postcards claiming you're entitled to “extra VA benefits” or additional payments.

Volunteers needed!

Anybody willing to volunteer to help put up, and take down the flags, we will be doing so as follows:

Flags up: July 1st, 10am. The flags will be positioned on the west side of the Saline County Courthouse.

Flags down: July 8th, 10am.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is actually happening!!! The installation of the flags around the courthouse is underway!!!

A HUGE thank you to the people of Saline County for your generosity and making this a reality. Also, an equal HUGE thank you to the followining:

Jeff Koll of Koll Construction for donating your time and resourses to install the flag poles.

Wilber-Clatonia High School for allowing some of your students to help with the installation.

Sack Lumber of Wilber, for using your fork lift to unload the products, and for storing the poles.

Kelly Mitchell and PVI of Fairbury for being so easy to work with on the manufacturing of the poles and bases.

I'm sure I am forgetting somebody here, and I am sorry if I am, I am just very excited to see this happening! What a great community we have!
