Payne family, join us tonight as we celebrate alumnus and D.Min. mentor Rev. Dr. Carlos W. Perkins on The Christian Recorder’s TCR Book Talk! 💜💛

Dr. Perkins will discuss his new devotional, You Are Enough: 21 Days to Sustaining the Seasons of Ministry, and the journey behind it—from two Category 5 hurricanes in the U.S. Virgin Islands to a doctoral program that nearly ended. A friend’s reminder that he had what it takes became the heart of this work.

Explore the book’s three movements—remembrance, resilience, and reconnection—and the story of faith, loss, and rebuilding that shaped them.

As pastor of Bethel Cathedral AME Church in Indianapolis, a member of the Indianapolis City Council, and Associate Director for Engagement at Lake Institute on Faith & Giving within the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Dr. Perkins will also share insights into faith and philanthropy.

This conversation is for pastors and laity alike. Invite a friend!

💜💛 **HELP US REACH $18,000 FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS!**

**A Legacy That Leads Forward!**

Payne Theological Seminary is excited to announce **The Called to Lead Scholarship**, established in honor of **Rev. Betty Whitted Holley, Ph.D., our 18th President!**

As we prepare to celebrate this historic Presidential Inauguration, we are also looking toward the future and the students who will carry Payne's mission forward.

🎓 **Our inaugural goal is $18,000!**

Why $18,000? To honor Payne's 18th President while investing in students preparing to answer their own call to leadership and ministry.

Your generosity can help students overcome financial barriers and continue preparing to serve churches, families, and communities.

💜 Whether you are a Payne alumnus, a church member, a ministry leader, a community partner, or a friend of the Seminary, **YOU can be part of this legacy!**

No gift is too small to demonstrate your commitment to the next generation.

**ANSWER THE CALL. INVEST IN A LEADER.**

When life doesn’t follow your timeline, trust the One who sees the entire journey. What feels like a delay may be God redirecting, preparing, or positioning you for His greater purpose.

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act." — Psalm 37:5

Every calling begins with surrender. Every breakthrough begins with trust.

As you prepare for another week of learning, ministry, work, and service, place your plans in God's hands. He sees what you cannot, knows what you do not, and is already working on your behalf.
Walk by faith today—God is faithful.
