Congratulations to Firefighter Evan Grimes on becoming a Paramedic. Evan has successfully met the requirements of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and the state of Massachusetts to obtain his Paramedic certification. This achievement comes after over two years of classroom learning, hospital training, and hours alongside paramedic preceptors.

Stony Hill Rd Traffic Detour June 1st to June 5th.
From June 1st to June 5th Stony Hill Rd will be milled and paved between Tinkham Rd and Soule Rd. A section of Stony Hill Rd will be detoured toward Main St to allow for road construction from June 1st to June 5th between 8:45 am-2:45 pm. Traffic will only be permitted to travel southbound on Stony Hill Rd between Tinkham Rd and Soule Rd during this time. Please use alternate routes, as significant traffic delays are expected. Refer to www.wilbraham-ma.gov for updates and delays due to weather.

Congratulations to our spring intern, Gwyn, and the rest of the Minnechaug Class of 2026. Gwyn has spent the six months alongside members of the Wilbraham Fire Department. During her time here, she responded to calls, assisted with fire inspections and drills, and presented fire and life safety topics to various schools in the district. We wish Gwyn the best of luck at Worcester State Nursing School.

This week, the Wilbraham Fire Department was presented with a Clinical Excellence Award from Baystate Medical Center for their efforts during a cardiac arrest last month. Crews were able to revive the patient, who is now making a full recovery, as seen in the picture below. The activation of the emergency response system, early defibrillation, and timely compressions truly save lives. The Wilbraham Fire Department will be hosting CPR classes in the future to continue our Heart Safe Community efforts.

Last night, we hosted our awards and badge pinning ceremony. We proudly recognized our dedicated members for their outstanding service and commitment to our community. We also welcomed our new members into the department.
