🚨Attention: New Food Establishments🚨
In McDowell County, all food establishments must obtain a permit from the Health Department before operating. To apply, submit the following with the required fees:
Plan Review Form (SF-35) and Permit Application (SF-5)
Floor plans & Plan Review Report (due at least 45 days before construction, conversion, or remodeling)
Permit Application (due at least 30 days before opening to allow for necessary adjustments)
Permit Fee (based on seating capacity)
Applications can be submitted by mail, email, or in person. Credit card payments are accepted.
After plan approval, an inspection is required before opening, and establishments will be inspected at least every six months per FDA guidelines.
🔁 RELOCATING or CHANGING LOCATIONS?
You MUST submit a new Plan Review and Permit Application
and complete a new inspection before reopening.
