The Wilcox Volunteer Fire Department is excited to sponsor the annual Wilcox Halloween celebration on Halloween Night — Saturday, October 31!

🧙‍♀️ PARADE OF COSTUMES 🎃
📍 Wilcox Community Building
⏰ 6:00–7:00 PM

Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and join us for our annual parade of costumes! Kids of all ages are invited to show off their Halloween spirit and enjoy an evening of fun with family, friends, and neighbors.

🍬 TRICK OR TREATING 🍬
⏰ 7:00–8:00 PM

Following the costume parade, trick-or-treating will take place throughout the community.

🏠 PLEASE REMEMBER: Trick-or-treating is BY PORCH LIGHT INVITATION ONLY.
If a home has its porch light on, they are welcoming trick-or-treaters. Please respect homes without a porch light.

This morning Engine 61 and Engine 63 traveled to Johnsonburg Fire Department to attend the funeral service of fallen firefighter Travis Haupt. The officers and members would again like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Travis.

🚨Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio is thrilled to bring a specialized training seminar to Elk County! 🚨

As Elk County Coroner, one of the things that is important to me is bringing new training, resources, and opportunities to the first responders who serve our communities every single day.

On Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6–8 PM at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall, I’m proud to host a FREE training and live demonstration featuring Nathan O’Dell, Rod Johnson, and Ruth Mayes of the North Central PA Dive Recovery and Canine Search Team.

Nathan will demonstrate some of the specialized equipment used in dive recovery operations, including sonar and other dive aids used to locate and recover human remains. We’ll also get to see the canine search team in action and learn how these specially trained dogs assist in human remains recovery!

I think there is tremendous value in giving our local responders the opportunity to see these resources firsthand, ask questions, learn what is available to us, and understand how these specialized teams can work alongside our local agencies when they’re needed.

Elk County police, fire, EMS, search and rescue, coroners, and ALL first responders are encouraged and welcome to attend. There is absolutely no cost, please share and spread the word about this unique and educational event! Light refreshments and drinks will be provided!

I’m excited to bring this to our county, and I hope we pack the fire hall! ❤️
