🚨 TORNADO WARNING — ELK & McKEAN COUNTIES — TAKE COVER NOW 🚨

A Tornado Warning has been issued until 9:15 AM for northeastern Elk County and southwestern McKean County.

At 8:38 AM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Kane, moving east at 35 mph. Radar has detected rotation within the storm, meaning a tornado could develop at any time.

The storm is also capable of producing quarter-size hail.

The dangerous storm will be near Kane and James City around 8:40 AM, Wilcox around 8:50 AM, and East Branch Dam around 9:00 AM. Mount Jewett and surrounding areas are also impacted.

🚨 TAKE COVER NOW. Move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, get to the nearest substantial shelter immediately and protect yourself from flying debris.

Do not wait to see or hear a tornado before taking action. This storm is moving quickly, and flying debris can be deadly.

..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT THE NORTHWEST MOUNTAINS DURING
THE PRIME COMMUTING HOURS THIS MORNING ...

Strong thunderstorms moving southeast across the area will create
* Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
* Hail up to half inch in diameter.
* Very heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches could lead to localized
flash flooding.

* Near continuous lightning.

The storms will cross Warren County between 645 AM and 8AM before
tracking further southeast at 30 to 35 mph across McKean and Elk
Counties between 8 and 9 AM. The storms will reach a line from
Near Clearfield to Driftwood around 930 AM.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

The storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from your National Weather Service.

👨‍🚒 4-Person Teams
💰 FREE — Open to ALL Area Fire Departments! We are unable to tag all of the departments as they don't all have a page. If you are seeing this and we didn't tag you it wasn't on purpose.
🏆 Events will include:
• Roof Ventilation
• Dummy Drag Through a Confined Space
• Hydrant & Engine Operations
• Rope Rescue using a 3:1 Mechanical Advantage
• Good Old-Fashioned Bucket Brigade
• Donning Gear Challenge — a standalone timed event requiring full turnout gear & SCBA
🚒 Departments are welcome to bring their own apparatus. Wilcox VFD will supply the other competition equipment.
🇺🇸 Being held over Labor Day Weekend, this is a great opportunity to get your crew together, put your skills to the test, and build some brotherhood with departments from around the area!
Come compete. Have fun. Build brotherhood.

The Rasselas Road, between Jerry Road and Fritz Road will be CLOSED to through traffic Saturday 8/29 at 7am and the crossings will re-open on Tuesday morning, 9/1 around 7am.

The Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad has finally set the date of the closure for two railroad 2 crossings to be 8/29-9/1. Work will begin on Saturday 8/29 at 7am and the crossings will re-open on Tuesday morning, 9/1 around 7am.

During the closures an official detour will be in place. Work will take place on both crossings simultaneously. Local traffic can detour through Lime Kill Rd; Markert Road; Instanter Road.
