What a wonderful community we have!! Huge shoutout to everyone that picked up tags off the Giving Tree in Wilder and Greenleaf this year!! Your kindness and holiday cheer made some amazing kids very happy and it would not have been possible without you!!! Thank you to all the staff for putting in the efforts to pull this together, and a big shout out to Officer Blanco for her love of this community and all her hard work. Hello Community!! Just Friendly reminder if you grabbed a gift tag from either Wilder or Greenleaf City Halls please have gifts turned into either location no later than noon on the 15th! We want to make sure all the kiddos who had tags out receive their special gifts from our amazing community!! Update: Thank you everyone that came in to get tags to help all the children in our community, we have managed to get every tag at Wilder City Hall picked up so there will be a ton of happy kids this Christmas season. If you were not able to get a tag in Wilder it’s not to late to grab one from Greenleaf City Hall, they still have a few left. 🤗

The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform apartment/facility maintenance and repair. The work is performed under the general supervisor of the Administrator. This position requests the exercise of independent judgment, time management and initiative in successfully performing assigned duties. Must live within a 30-minute response time of Wilder. Must be able to be on-call on evenings and weekends on a schedule set by the Administrator.

Essential duties and responsivities
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of vacant apartment and in other Wilder
Housing Authority buildings.
• Complete mechanical repairs on apartments prior to occupancy in Wilder Housing
Authority buildings.
• Remove and repair linoleum and other flooring surfaces.
• Repair/replace wall, ceiling, windows and building fixtures.
• Operates heavy machinery necessary to repair water and sewer lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair/replace electrical components.
• Response to emergency repairs as needed.
• Preforms miscellaneous seasonal duties.
• Develop a plan to accomplish work and prioritizing and organizing one’s own work.
• Provides information to supervisor and other employees.
• Performs minor maintenance duties as required.
• Grounds keeping work, such as mowing and w**d edging.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities or ability to learn with on-the-job training:
• Working knowledge of procedures, tools, equipment and material used in maintenance work.
• Working knowledge of safety practices of construction work.
• Working knowledge of use of cleaning agents and equipment.
• Working knowledge of use of chemicals and their interactions, able to identify dangerous signs and disposal methods and understanding MSDS.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment used in maintenance/construction work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform lifting and other duties that require moderate physical strength.
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, peers and the general public.

The selected applicant is required to be fingerprinted, background checked and is subject to random drug testing. You must hold a valid Driver's License. The City of Wilder is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Due to the vandalism of the Wilder Park the bathrooms will be locked until further notice! If anyone has any information on the damages and theft of trash cans and multiple dispensers as well as the cutting of camera wires please call the Wilder Police Department at 208-482-6204 option 5 or call City Hall

Attention Irrigation Customers:
Due to a water shortage caused by a drought going on across the country, Boise Project Board of Control has notified The City of Wilder, Irrigation may end on September 15, 2021 instead of the date in October. The City of Wilder will hold the Annual 4th of July Celebration on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Parade at Noon (line up is 11:00 a.m.), Music and vendors in the park - Noon to 5:00 p.m. and Fireworks at dark with a bigger and better show this year!

This is one of the best small town celebrations around. To watch the Parade sit or stand on Highway 95 (5th Street) or on A Avenue, which is a short walk to the Wilder City Park for the Music, Food, Gifts and many raffle Items are up for grabs that help fund the fireworks display. Come check it out!

This is a candy parade, so have kids bring a bag or basket! Parade entrants, bring candy to throw! Parade entrants will be judged and it includes audience interaction. Here are our Parade Categories and cash prize amounts:

*Floats/Business Entries - 1st Place $100; 2nd Place $50 and 3rd Place is $25
*Group/Organizations - 1st Place $100; 2nd Place $50 and 3rd Place is $25
*Best Horse Entry - 1st Place $50; 2nd Place $30 and 3rd Place is $15
*Best Motor Vehicle Entry - 1st Place $75; 2nd Place $40 and 3rd Place is $20
*Best Motorcycle Entry - 1st Place $50; 2nd Place $30 and 3rd Place is $15
*Kids 12 & Under and Misc - 1st Place $30; 2nd Place $20 and 3rd Place is $10

Everyone is invited to join the parade!
Line up for the Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. and sign-up the day of the parade at a table located near the Wilder Housing Authority Office located at 500 S. 5th Street, Wilder, Idaho, which is also where the parade will begin. See you there!

FREE FIREWOOD!
The storm on June 22, 2021 took down a few trees at the Chula Vista Housing Complex located at 500 S. 5th Street, Wilder, Idaho.

The wood will be placed between the office and shop in the paved area. You are free to help yourself to the wood. Please only take the wood placed on the pavement and please do not drive on the grass.

Available until gone.

Annual Wilder Easter Egg Hunt is cancelled due to Governor Littles Stay Healthy Stage Three Guidelines that gathering should be limited to 50 or fewer people. Typically this event draws more than 50 people and is not conducive to social distancing.
Hopefully next year things will be back to normal and we will once again have our Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

One Stone Park playground is now open and ready for kids to play. It is located off of Golden Gate Avenue near City Well No. 3.

They swings are not complete yet, waiting on some parts but everything else is good to go!
