PUBLIC NOTICE - Please Share

Station 3 will be going door to door in our response area below to complete the surveys this coming Saturday January 13th. They will be in station 3 equipment so you will know exactly their purpose.
If you would rather complete the survey by phone, please call 731-614-8767 to reach station 3 Chief P.J. Oyer or 731-614-0699 to reach station 3 secretary/treasurer Kim Essary. The survey is shown below.

Special Attention: Communities of Parkers Crossroads, Wildersville, Rock Springs, Strayleaf, Longsought, and Timberlake.

The City of Parkers Crossroads is allowing Henderson County Fire Department to use it's Community Development Block Grant eligibility to submit an application requesting assistance in funding the replacement of a Service/Haz-Mat Truck located at Station 3 (Parkers Crossroads). As a part of the application process, a survey of the stations primary response district is REQUIRED as a part of gathering information the grant writer needs for the application. Firefighters with the station who already commit numerous hours in training and response to calls for service, and without any compensation, now have the task of going door to door to complete a questionnaire on each household. Fortunately, the questionnaire is simple and is limited to 10 questions, taking only a couple minutes to complete. The survey process MUST be completed by February 29th. The community's cooperation is critical in the station being able to complete the survey within such a short period of time. And last but not least, if you would be interested in helping the firefighters conduct the survey, call the department at 731-968-4153 and you will be directed to the station's coordinator.

Who we are and what we do

Station 3 is located at Parkers Crossroads with satellite station 13 on Union Cross Road. These stations are staffed by dedicated volunteers as part of the Henderson County Volunteer Fire Department. Volunteer firefighters undergo extensive training. New volunteers undergo a one time basic driver training and receive certification. Annually, all drivers must attend training under the Vanessa K. Free Emergency Services Training Act of 2005. In addition, interior firefighters must attend a 64 hour training to be live burn certified. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a firefighter with station 3 or 13, send a message.

The goal of the station is to protect lives and property within our community as well as visitors passing thru on Interstate 40 between around mile marker 104 to around mile marker 120.

Station 3 and Station 13 is funded primarily thru fundraising efforts each year with a food booth at the Henderson County Free Fair. Thru this food booth, the station is able to purchase new equipment to save lives and property. This food booth is staffed by the volunteer firefighters, their families and friends. If you are interested in helping out, please send a message and we will be most thankful for your help.
