One of two daughters born to a police officer and a work-at-home mother, Kerri learned at an early age the importance of community service and family, and how both interacted to create a better future for everyone. In Oregon, Kerri founded and published a local newspaper, started a small graphic design business, and was very active in her community. Both businesses were certified as a Women's Busi
ness Enterprise. Her newspaper helped the local school district with their “Public Schools Campaign”, which in turn recognized Kerri for her hard work and dedication to Public Education. Kerri brought awareness to fraudulent youth employment and received a proclamation from Oregon Governor Neil Goldschmidt for her accomplishments. In addition to her businesses, Kerri organized and participated in community efforts, such as Give Peace A Chance, and The Fred Meyer Challenge Golf Tournament that brought professional athletes, golfers, and celebrities together to raise money for charity. Kerri served on the Annual Oregon Women in Business Conference Committee, and has been a gymnastics judge for the Special Olympics. She produced resumes for women at the Women's Crisis Center and volunteered for many organizations and community food banks. Kerri has worked as a preschool teacher, a program development and community information specialist for Multnomah County Department of Human Services and an office manager for Trinity United Methodist Church. Kerri and her husband Tim have been married for twenty-four years. They have one daughter, Olivia, who is a freshman in college.
