Yesterday, Kids Central hosted a blood drive at our Wildwood office, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to support this important cause! 🩸

A huge thank-you to our amazing Kids Central staff and community members who rolled up their sleeves and donated. We had 22 people attend and collected an incredible 15 units of blood, donations that have the potential to help save up to 45 lives!

Help Save Lives!

Kids Central is excited to partner with OneBlood to host a community blood drive on Thursday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The OneBlood Big Red Bus will be located in the parking lot of our Wildwood office building located at 901 Industrial Drive in Wildwood (across from Russell Stover's Chocolate Factory).

Donors will receive a $20 gift card and a Big Red Bus T-shirt as a thank-you for their generous donation.

To make donating as convenient as possible, donors can reserve a time that works best for them using the appointment link below:

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Interim Secretary Kate Williams, Assistant Secretary Brooke Bass with the Office of Child and Family Well-Being, and Pat Smith, Executive Director of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet, for their incredibly generous donation of school supplies!

We were especially grateful to have four of our amazing foster parents join us to receive these supplies. They will not only be taking items home for their own families but also helping distribute supplies throughout the community to other youth and families in need.

Kids Central Education Liaison Kristen Flanagan recently attended the Lake/Sumter Foster Parent Association's Back-to-School Bash.

It was a great opportunity to connect with current foster parents, meet new families, and provide information regarding school transition staffing's, who can be an Education Decision maker for children in foster care, and other ways the Kids Central Education Department can support children in their homes.

Our case management team works tirelessly to support youth in foster care, often providing comfort, meals, and essential items during difficult transitions.

Right now, our case management office is in need of:
• 🍔 Fast food gift cards
• 🎨 Activity gift cards
• 🧴 Lice treatment kits
• 👜 Collapsible moving bags to help youth transport their belongings with dignity while also being easy to store when not in use.

Every donation helps a child feel supported, cared for, and seen.
