Combat Veterans To Careers

Combat Veterans To Careers Non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing 360 degrees of support to combat veterans and their families transitioning to civilian life.

Combat Veterans to Careers (CVC) was founded in The Villages in May 2012 with the commitment to serve our nation’s combat veterans and their families. We assist veterans and their families the area of education, employment, housing and wellness. CVC has partnered with local residents, clubs, businesses, colleges and VA offices to bring combat veterans and their families “home” to a community that

embraces them and provides education, understanding and meaningful employment to minimize hardships. In addition to counseling, housing, career and educational opportunities, we provide veterans with opportunities to deliver services beyond themselves. This is essential to successfully reconnecting with others in the community, and is a large part of why many veterans were led to serve their country in the first place. Accessing care and benefits through the VA, utilizing earned education benefits, training for civilian careers, securing affordable housing and developing a quality resume package are just a few of the ways we continue to help our veterans transition back into civilian life.

🇮🇹🍝 We’re Excited to Welcome a Friend to the CVC Family! 🇺🇸

Combat Veterans to Careers is proud to announce that local celebrity chef and friend, Sean Langan, is bringing his award-winning cuisine to our CVC property with the opening of Luna Cucina Outdoor Café.

Sean has spent years building a reputation for culinary excellence, with restaurant concepts that have earned national recognition and praise. More importantly, he has become a valued friend and supporter of our mission, making this partnership especially meaningful to all of us at CVC.

Luna Cucina offers far more than the typical food truck experience. Guests can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine crafted with fresh ingredients and Chef Sean’s signature attention to detail, including favorites such as:

🍷 Mussels in Wine Sauce with red wine tomato sauce and wood-fired focaccia
🍅 Baked Meatballs in Fresh Marinara with parmesan and garlic breadcrumbs
🍝 Chicken & Mushroom Fettuccine with garlic, shallots, and cream sauce
🥩 Short Rib Ravioli with veal demi and gorgonzola
🧀 Multi-Layered Lasagna with house-made Bolognese sauce
🦆 Smoked Duck Gourmet Pizza with whipped feta and caramelized onions
☕ Specialty coffees, handcrafted desserts, gourmet salads, wood-fired pizzas, and much more.

What makes this partnership even more special is that a portion of the proceeds from Luna Cucina will help support Combat Veterans to Careers and the veterans and families we serve every day.

We’re grateful to have Sean as part of our community and excited to share his incredible food with everyone who visits our campus.

Come hungry, bring your friends, and experience authentic Italian cuisine while helping support local veterans.

Today marks the beginning of PTSD Awareness Month 🇺🇸🪖 — a time dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and reminding those suffering that they are never alone.

For many veterans, the battle does not end when they come home.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a very real condition that many veterans endure. It is a physical and psychological response to trauma that can change the way the brain processes fear, danger, emotions, and survival. For many veterans, the brain remains in survival mode long after the danger is over.

PTSD can affect every aspect of a person’s life — relationships, careers, sleep, mental health, and overall well-being. Many symptoms are often misunderstood or overlooked because they may appear as:

• Short tempers or irritability
• Isolation from family and friends
• Overworking or staying constantly busy
• Trouble sleeping
• Hypervigilance or always being “on guard”
• Emotional numbness
• Substance abuse or self-medication
• Difficulty relaxing or feeling safe, even in normal environments

These are not signs of weakness.

In many cases, PTSD develops because the brain became exceptionally good at survival under extreme stress. The same instincts that helped protect someone in combat or crisis can later become difficult to turn off in civilian life.

Sadly, veterans are among the populations most affected by PTSD, depression, and su***de. Many continue suffering in silence because of stigma, fear, or the belief that they must carry these burdens alone.

At Combat Veterans to Careers, we want our veterans to know that help is available, healing is possible, and asking for support is not weakness — it is courage.

Through our Operation Field Trip program and other outreach initiatives, we are committed to helping veterans find hope, healing, renewed purpose, and access to life-changing support and treatment options.

The good news is that PTSD is treatable, and recovery is possible.

Many veterans have found healing through:

• Therapy and counseling
• Peer support groups
• Wellness programs
• Fitness and community support
• Faith-based support
• Innovative treatments such as ketamine-assisted therapy

No veteran should have to fight this battle alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Asking for help is not weakness — it is courage.

Resources:

• National Center for PTSD – U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
• Su***de & Crisis Lifeline – Call or Text 988
• Veterans Crisis Line – Dial 988 and Press 1

This June, let us stand together to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding PTSD, and remind every veteran and first responder that they are never alone in the fight.

CVC Goes National!

What an incredible evening at City Fire American Oven & Bar – Brownwood Boulevard in The Villages! We are beyond proud and grateful to share that our founder, David Booth, was interviewed live by Eric Bolling on Real America’s Voice as part of the launch of Main Street America LIVE.

It was an honor to see Combat Veterans to Careers represented on a national platform while sharing our mission to support veterans and their families. We are deeply thankful to everyone who came out wearing their CVC gear and patriotic apparel to show support — your presence meant the world to us.

A special thank you to Eric Bolling, Real America’s Voice, Mike and Gina at City Fire, and everyone involved in making this event such a success. This was more than just a broadcast — it was a powerful moment for our veteran community, and we are excited for what lies ahead.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we remember the fallen, we also thank those who continue to serve and the families who stand beside them. Freedom is never free.
