🚨 Water Main Break & Traffic Advisory – Strecker Road / Clayton Road

The City of Wildwood has been notified of a water main break along Strecker Road, just north of its intersection with Clayton Road. The break occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. today, August 3, 2026.

Missouri American Water crews are currently on site performing emergency repairs and anticipate restoring water service by approximately 6:00 p.m. today.

πŸ’§ Water Service Impacts

Customers in the following areas may experience low water pressure, discolored or cloudy water, or temporary loss of water service while repairs are underway:

*Clayton Road from just south of Prospector Ridge Drive to the intersection of Clayton Road and Strecker Road
*Properties immediately adjacent to the Clayton Road/Strecker Road intersection
*Strecker Road from the Clayton Road intersection south to Prestwick Place Lane, including Prestwick Place Lane
*Nearby Subdivision Streets Impacted: Woodcliff Heights Court; Woodcliff Heights Drive; Wynncrest Falls Way; Wynncrest Falls Court; Portions of Peppermill Drive; and Portions of Wynncrest Falls Drive

After service has been restored, Missouri American Water advises customers that temporary water quality changes may occur:

*Discolored water: Run cold water from the lowest level of your home for several minutes.
*Cloudy water: Run water from the highest level of your home for 3–5 minutes until it clears.

🚧 Traffic Impacts

Repair work is currently impacting traffic on Strecker Road just north of its intersection with Clayton Road. This section of Strecker Road has been temporarily closed to allow Missouri American Water crews to safely complete the necessary repairs.

While water has largely receded from the roadway and crews appear to have completed the majority of the repair work, the temporary road closure remains in place. Motorists traveling northbound on Strecker Road from Clayton Road, or those who would normally travel through this section of Strecker Road, are encouraged to use alternate routes until the roadway is reopened.

Clayton Road remains open to traffic in both directions. However, drivers should continue to use caution and expect minor delays in the area while utility crews complete their work.

For the safety of both the public and utility crews, please do not approach work crews or enter the work zone.
