This is what it is all about….

Recently, I sent a very special little girl named Charlotte in Tennessee a pawagraphed copy of Detective Spike, her very own Spike plushy, and one of Spike’s trading cards. 🐕‍🦺📖

This morning, I received a message from Charlotte’s family that absolutely melted our hearts. ❤️

When Charlotte saw Spike’s picture, she ran to her mom and excitedly said:

“Mommy, this dog Spike is a police officer!” 🥹
And then came a message straight from Charlotte’s heart:

“Thank you, Spike. I really love you. Thank you for the book and the stuffy. Your dog looks like my dog, Lacy, and I love you, Spike!” ❤️

Charlotte, I hope you know that Spike loves you right back! 🐾💙

Sometimes we get so focused on Spike’s work helping law enforcement and protecting children that we forget just how special these little moments can be.

AI has made it possible for someone to take an innocent photo of your face from social media and create a fake sexual image by placing your face onto someone else’s body. Criminals can then threaten to share the fake image unless you send them money, additional photos, or other content.

⚠️ Protect Yourself:
• Keep social media accounts private.
• Be careful who you accept as a friend or follower.
• Limit publicly available photos of yourself.
• Never send money or additional images if threatened.
• Do not delete the messages save the evidence.
• Block and report the account.
• Tell a trusted adult or law enforcement immediately.

Most importantly: A fake AI image is still sextortion. Don't let embarrassment or fear keep you from asking for help.

Parents talk to your kids about this before it happens.

🐾💙 Remembering Connor Vest 💙🐾

Many years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Connor Vest while visiting his classroom. It was one of the many special moments I’ve shared with students throughout our community, and today, that memory carries an even deeper meaning.

My prayers, love, and deepest thoughts go out to Connor’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and everyone whose life he touched following his heartbreaking passing at just 15 years old. 🙏💙

There are simply no words for a loss like this. May our entire community surround Connor’s loved ones with love, prayer, strength, and support in the difficult days ahead.

Connor’s family is also facing the unexpected financial burden that comes with such an unimaginable tragedy. After more than three decades in law enforcement, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact that human trafficking and child sexual exploitation have on victims, their families, and entire communities. That’s why I continue this mission with Our Rescue.
