Wilkesboro Elementary School is excited to announce our Duke Energy Science Night on Thursday, February 26 from 5:30 - 7:00. Your family can drop in any time to explore a world of learning and fun!

Join us in exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging hands-on activities such as making Geometry Quilt Squares, testing Parachutes, creating Pinwheel Power, and much more!

We welcome students and families for a night of science and fun! All activities are FREE and accessible to students and their families. You can also contact us at336-838-4261 with questions.

And before or after, our PTO invites you to support our school by dining at Shortstop’s Restaurant (1297 Westwood Lane in Wilkesboro) on Thursday, February 26 anytime between 5:00 and 9:00. Please mention WES when ordering for dine in or take out and a portion of sales will be donated to our school.

WES families are invited to join us on Thursday, February 26 from 5:30 - 7:00 for WES Math and Science Night! This free event allows students and family members to float around the school exploring hands-on activities in math and science. You can build a catapult, make invisible ink, launch a rocket, visit the reptile room with live critters, and so much more. Every student will get a take-home math game with materials to play at home. PTO is providing free snacks for children, and there will be lots of hands-on activities to take home to explore. We hope you’ll join us for a fun night at school. Thanks to Duke Energy Science Night

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Wilkesboro Elementary will host Kindergarten Fun Times. Kindergarten Fun Times it the first step to enrollment for next year's students. Children visit our school with their families, meet our staff, and learn all about kindergarten!

If you know a child who will be five on or before August 31, 2026, please plan to drop by Fun Times between 5:30 and 7:00. We encourage all students currently enrolled in pre-k to join us for Kindergarten Fun Times.
