Turner Intermediate had so much fun celebrating our Turner Tigers who are showing their ROARS behavior! Students have the opportunity to turn in their Tiger Bucks for a chance to win a prize from our ROARS prize display. Our ROARS values are:

Today was our first Fun Friday raffle of the year, and we are so proud of our students for demonstrating these important expectations each day! We look forward to celebrating our Tigers with a ROARS raffle every Friday, so keep up the good work!

As a reminder, all students and staff will be off on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. This federal holiday recognizes the contributions and achievements of American workers and the important role they play in the strength and prosperity of our country.

We hope you enjoy the long weekend and take some time to rest and recharge! All students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, September 8.

The Wilkinsburg School District and Neighborhood Learning Alliance are teaming up to offer a FREE after school program for students in grades K-5 during the 2026-2027 school year! The Litter Warriors’ After School Program provides students with a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, play, build new skills, and connect with their peers.

The program for students in grades K-2 will take place at Kelly Primary beginning September 22, while the program for students in grades 3-5 will take place at Turner Intermediate beginning September 8. Both programs run Monday through Thursday from dismissal until 6:15 p.m.

Families must complete the two-step registration process to be considered for the program. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register today!

Wellness Wednesday is off to a GREAT start at Turner Intermediate!

This past Wednesday was our first Wellness Wednesday of the year, and our students jumped right in! Students participated in a fun movement video during Homeroom to get up, get moving, and start their day with positive energy.

Students are encouraged to wear their athletic gear each Wednesday and participate alongside their classmates. It’s all about moving, having fun, building relationships, and taking care of ourselves—one day at a time!

Our Story Begins Here!

What a GREAT first week at Turner Intermediate!

This morning, we celebrated the end of our first week together with a staff breakfast and an opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate all that we accomplished as a team.

Every staff member signed our “Our Story Begins Here” sign and proudly wore their Turner “Our Story” T-shirts. It was a simple reminder that each of us is an important part of the story we are creating at Turner.

This year, our story is about coming together as one team—with our students, our staff, and our administration moving in the same direction, supporting one another, and working together toward the same goal: making Turner the very best it can be for our students.

We are building our story one student, one relationship, one staff member, and one day at a time. This is just the beginning, and we are so excited for all that is ahead!

Check out the smiles from the first day of school!

We were thrilled to welcome our Tigers back to Kelly Primary and Turner Intermediate today as we officially kicked off the 2026-2027 school year!

Our students were welcomed by both familiar faces and new members of our school leadership teams. We’re excited for the opportunities that come with a new school year and look forward to seeing our students, staff, and families continue to grow together throughout the year.

It was wonderful to see our schools come alive again, and we can’t wait to see what 2026-2027 has in store for the District. It’s going to be a great year!
