Between Friday, April 24th, and Thursday, April 30th when the damage was discovered, individuals entered the Willard Aquatic Center and committed a significant act of vandalism. The photo above is a small sample of the total volume of destruction. While the total cost of this senseless act is still being determined, the cost to the Parks Department will be several thousand dollars. This vandalism during a year where the pool season is already dramatically affected by COVID 19 certainly impacts all of our residents and those who enjoy our aquatic facilities.
I am sharing this with the community in hopes that someone has information regarding this event.
There is a donor sponsored reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those involved in this pointless act.
Please reach out to the police department at [email protected] or the parks department at [email protected].
Thank you for your support of Willard Parks and Recreation.
