Ref: Swatting Call – August 25, 2026

We want to ensure our community there is no public threat after a large police response in Williams Bay last night. Just before 10 p.m. on August 25, 2026, an apparent “swatting call” prompted an emergent police response to the Baywood Heights Subdivision. Officers were able to contact the residents inside the home, assure their safety, and return normalcy to the area.

A “swatting” call is a false report of an emergency made to prompt a significant law enforcement or emergency response. This “swatting” incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Williams Bay Police Department at 262.245.2710.

We understand a large police presence in a residential neighborhood can be startling for many and raise concern in the community. We want to reassure you of your safety and keep you up to date with police activity like this. We are thankful for the continued support and will continue to put forward our promise of safety, service, and building a stronger community.

We would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted in bringing this incident to a quick and safe resolution. Assisting agencies included Wisconsin State Patrol, Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, Town of Linn Police Department, and Town of Geneva Police Department.

Another great year at National Night Out - Walworth County. A FREE event made possible by fundraising and generous donors, including our very own Gage Marine.

Williams Bay officers are grateful for the opportunity to connect with residents, participate alongside neighboring communities, and help make a meaningful night for families.

Events like this remind us why community engagement matters so much. Whether through a kind word, a simple thank-you, or the excitement of seeing a familiar face, we know these moments make a positive impact. Our officers are honored to represent the department and Williams Bay in a way that makes our community proud.

As Corn and Brat weekend has come to a close we'd like to thank everyone involved to help organize and carry out a great community fundraiser and fireworks display!

It's events like this and community organizations like Williams Bay Lions Club who continue to build a stronger community.

As seen this weekend and pictured below, our new police bike unit was deployed throughout the event. A program supported by grant funding and donations from the Lions Club. We're pleased to see the early success and continued support to enhance safety and service.

🎆🌽 Lions Club Corn & Brat Festival & Fireworks 🌭🎆

We're ready for a great weekend of community fun at the Lions Club Corn & Brat Festival, followed by the Village of Williams Bay fireworks display over Geneva Lake in Williams Bay!

🕚 Festival Hours: 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM
🎆 Fireworks Display: Approximately 9:00 PM

Fireworks will be launched from a barge in Williams Bay and will be visible from the lakefront and many surrounding areas.

🚗 Parking Reminders

Please use designated public parking areas, including the East Circle Lot, West Circle Lot, and available street parking.

When parking, remember:
✅ Observe all posted parking regulations
✅ 2-hour parking limits remain in effect on N. Walworth Avenue
✅ Do not park in yellow curb areas
✅ Residential permit parking areas require a valid permit displayed in your vehicle's windshield.
🚫Harris Road Lift Station is a designated No Parking Area
🚫Do not block driveways.

🍺 Open Intoxicants

Open intoxicants are prohibited throughout the Village, including the lake path. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in following Village ordinances and helping provide a safe, family-friendly event.

🚦 Traffic Information

Roads will remain open during the event. Following the fireworks display, WBPD will be assisting with traffic control to help everyone exit safely and efficiently.

🌽Corn and Brat Festival will continue after fireworks until 12am.

Thank you for helping make this a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone. Enjoy the festival, support the Lions Club, and have a fantastic evening watching the fireworks!

Safety Town Success!🚲⚠🎉

Safety Town returned to Williams Bay and the kids loved it!
After reviewing rules of the road, best practices for riding, and working through safety checks, kids hit the track to test their skills.

We started by taking on different handling challenges designed to build confidence while riding. From evasive swerves and checking intersections to off-road recovery and learning how to fall safely, everyone learned something new.

As riders built their confidence, we put everything together and had the kids ride the circuit. Riders had to follow the rules of the road, use hand signals, and check intersections along the way. After the first couple of rounds, we saw everyone increase their speed and complete the challenge course at a faster pace than when they started, proving to themselves that they were becoming stronger and safer riders.

The day wrapped up with pizza, ice cream, and fun prizes for all. A special thank you goes to the Williams Bay School District, Williams Bay Recreation Department, community members, and Frosty Moose for the donations and time that helped make this event possible.

If you missed us this year, we’ll be back again next summer as we continue working to keep kids safe in Williams Bay!
