As you may or may not know, Kevin and I have sold the Lodge after owning it for twelve years, living in it for five and loving it for ever.
It’s time for someone who loves the building as well and is respecting its history to take over her stewardship.
We’ve had some great fundraisers, parties, weddings and sadly, memorials. The old gal relished her new attention and remodeling.
We have moved out, and soon the new owner will move in and continue to refurbish it, all the while keeping her character.
It was truly an honor to be a part of her history.
We have moved just up the road a bit and Kevin can be found working for his numerous clients.
So. So long, but not farewell from us and remember, you could be the one that brings a change, to your home, your park, your downtown. What started as a dream for us, became a reality!
Onward and Upward!

Twelve years ago Kevin and I decided to buy a piece of Williams history. We wanted to save another building from languishing and eventually falling down.
We knew the Masonic Lodge had good bones and we would be able to do much of the work ourselves.
After twelve years of polishing, painting, plumbing, parties and fundraisers, we have sold the grand dame of 7th and E. She’s is in good hands with a very nice man who shares our love of the building and the history that goes with it.
A huge thanks goes to our realtor Amber Torres for her tenacity and hard work. She never gave up on us and in the end found the perfect buyer.
So much has happened in twelve years, some good and some tragic.
Through it all we will never forget our years of “loft living” in downtown Williams.

Thank you,

Onward and Upward!

Have you ever noticed how a clean, vibrant downtown just feels different? When storefronts are well-kept, sidewalks are clean, and the whole area feels alive and welcoming, it’s more than just pleasing to the eye—it can actually influence how residents feel about themselves and their community.

A thriving downtown isn’t just about visitors or sales; it’s about creating a shared sense of identity and pride. When you live in a place that’s cared for and visually appealing, it sends a message: This place matters. And if the place matters, so do the people who live there.

On the converse, when a town’s center is neglected, it can have a subtle but powerful effect on residents’ self-image. Empty storefronts, rundown buildings, or littered sidewalks don’t just make the area look bad—they can make people feel disconnected and disheartened. It’s like the space is saying, “We’ve given up,” and that energy can seep into how people view themselves and their role in the community.

Investing in the built environment—sprucing up facades, keeping the streets clean, and making public spaces inviting—transforms more than just the physical space. It tells the community that this is a place worth caring about, a place worth taking pride in. That pride builds momentum, creating a healthier, more positive self-image for everyone who calls it home. In short, when downtown looks good, we all feel a little better about who we are.
