Through the innovative Batch and Build model developed in Iowa, we have become a national leader in implementation of edge of field water quality practices. These practices, which include saturated buffers and bioreactors, are designed to filter water as it leaves farm fields after rain events.

In the spirit of the theme for national Soil Stewardship Week (which is also this week) – May the Forest Be With You – we rounded up a few tree tips to share with you.

Many thanks to Dennis Carlson, Carlson Tree Farm in Hampton, and member of the State Soil and Water Conservation Committee, for sharing these great ideas and videos!
