We are so thrilled to let you know that our 5th grade Baker Bear, Ryder Argo, has been selected as a grand prize winner in the annual WATA Bus art contest.

This year’s contest theme is “Spirit of 1776” to honor this nation’s upcoming 250th birthday. There were three categories to enter: aspiring, amateur, and professional artist. One winner was selected from each of these categories, and the prize package included having the winning artwork displayed on a full-sized WATA bus and a $5,000 check. Many art students around the district and from York County entered their original works of art centered around this theme.
Ryder was selected as the winner of the “aspiring artist” category!

Thank you to Mrs. Chrismon for teaching and inspiring all of our young artists! You are simply AMAZING!

Our 7 super CBB students performed at the All-Virginia Elementary Chorus this past weekend! Attached is some rehearsal footage…don’t they sound AMAZING?? Congratulations to our choir students and thank you to Mr. Kriner, our choir director, for making it all possible!

CBB was so excited to bring back STEM night this year! We had a great turnout and it was wonderful for the kids to experience all things STEM! From Beebots to Indi Cars to building, there was something for everyone. It was also a great way for our Baker Bears to show their families ALL the amazing activities and tools we use here at school! It was such a wonderful evening!

Our annual career day was a huge success this year! We had so many volunteers with such unique jobs. Our students loved hearing all about the possible careers they may have someday. Thank you so much to our amazing volunteers who kept our students interested and engaged. A huge shoutout to our counselors, Ms. Green and Mrs. Smethurst, for making it all possible!
