🚒 Equipment Update for WFD🚒

On March 4th, the Williamsburg Fire Department received **8 new Dräger SCBAs** to replace several broken and outdated units currently in service. These new air packs will help ensure our firefighters have reliable, up-to-date equipment when responding to emergencies and operating in hazardous environments.

We would like to extend a **big thank you to the Mayor and City Council** for their continued support of our department and for helping make this upgrade possible. Investments like this help keep our firefighters safer and better equipped to serve the citizens of Williamsburg.

Wildfire season is here in Kentucky, and dry conditions + wind can turn small outdoor fires into big emergencies fast. Please help keep our community safe.

And if you do plan on burning in the allowed time frame. If you are in the city limits please contact Williamsburg fire dept and if in the county please contact Whitley dispatch at their non emergency number.

We want to sincerely thank all firefighters, emergency responders, police officers, emergency management and other mutual aid agencies who responded from the WHITLEY, KNOX, LAUREL, and McCREARY counties, “too many too name them all individually” who went above and beyond to assist us during this devastating fire. Your dedication and teamwork made a tremendous difference.
Thank you as well to other officials and depts who assisted with keeping the ice at bay and fuel in the trucks ,and the utilities safe for all on scene
And Big Thanks the citizens and community members who stepped up to help in any way they could. Your support, kindness, and generosity did not go unnoticed.

ALL LANES of Interstate 75 are CLOSED in both northbound and southbound directions from Exit 11 to Exit 15 due to an active law enforcement situation.

🚫 All I-75 on-ramps in this area are also closed.

⚠️ Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use caution.

Use U.S. 25W to travel around the affected exits.
