*WCSO Deputies Honored by Williamsburg VFW Post 3167*

On Monday, April 13th, 2026, Deputy Heather Lindsey and Deputy David Rowe were honored by VFW Post 3167 in Williamsburg.

During winter snowstorms in 2026 road conditions were poor, and VFW Post 3167 opened its doors as a warming center for those in need of a safe and warm place to stay. Deputies Lindsey and Rowe began transporting individuals to the VFW Post so they could get out of the cold.

During this period Deputy Lindsay and Deputy Rowe became aware of others in the community who were without firewood. While off duty, they utilized their personally owned truck and partnered with the VFW to deliver firewood to those in need at no cost.

We are extremely proud to have these two deputies on our team. Their willingness to go above and beyond to help others reflects the very best of our agency.

VFW Post 3167 also provided the Sheriff’s Office with two dozen MRE meals for our deputies to keep in their patrol vehicles for emergency situations for those in need. Williamsburg VFW Post 3167 is a valued community partner who consistently offers support. We are extremely grateful for their continued service to our community.
