It's Staff Spotlight Sunday! This week, we are introducing Ms. Malachi, our Assessment and Compliance Coordinator. Ms. Malachi coordinates testing, works with students with 504 plans and their families and teachers, and monitors, encourages, and celebrates attendance, among other things - as you can see her here, helping to make morning drop off smooth and safe!

Although Ms. Malachi is originally from Alabama, Virginia feels like home. She grew up here due to have a parent in the Navy. Outside of school, Ms. Malachi likes to spend time with her family. She loves to read, play the saxophone, crochet, and explore. She is looking forward to working with our amazing Panther students, families, and staff, and absorbing some of that Panther PRIDE.

Please give Ms. Malachi a warm welcome to the Lake!

The PSAT is open to 8th graders and is optional. Signups are available at schoolcashonline.com through Wednesday, September 10 - that's tomorrow!

The test will be given at QLMS, during the school day, on Thursday, October 15.

Please contact Mrs. Malachi at QLMS if you would like more information about if this would be a good test for your student.

The Queens Lake Middle School PTA is hosting a Back-to-School Spirit Night at Shoofly Dairy Bar on Thursday, August 27th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. 100% of tips and a percentage of all sales will be donated to the QLMS PTA. Last year, the PTA was able to support school events, students, and teachers in many ways using funds raised through events like this. Let's start them off with plenty of funds to work with this year!

With the first day of school only one day away, there is so much to cheer for - especially that our cheer coaches will be at lunches on Monday and Tuesday (August 24 & 25) to hold cheer interest meetings. 💚💛🐾 (Shout out to Dr. Weymouth-German for her enthusiasm for supporting the QLMS cheer team! 📣)
