Congratulations to Bodie and Kennedy for completing 300 books on their way to reading 1000 Books before Kindergarten. They received their prize and had their pictures added to our Wall of Fame!

Help us welcome June, the last week before we hit Summer Reading Program! If you are wondering what summer reading is all about, join us June 11 from 12-4. We will kick off the summer with sign up, activities, games, and maybe a few prizes. Kids of all ages receive a reading challenge. When each challenge is met, they bring their reading log in for a prize and their name is entered for larger prizes to be drawn at the end of summer. We have activities and events scheduled throughout the summer to help keep them motivated to read! If you can’t make it that day, you can still sign up at your convenience during library hours.

Reminder, we will have our 2nd Tween Time on the 2nd. Let’s see if you have a green thumb. We will paint pots for you to take home along with a plant to take care of. Also, we will plant a bit in our garden. As of now, the weather looks good for an outside program. And, of course, pizza and drinks since this is all made possible by the Slice of Literacy Pizza Hut Grant. Remember this is just for tweens, kids just leaving grades 4,5, or 6.

If you’ve watched our pumpkin’s life cycle since October, here is an update. I’m not sure we will actually get pumpkins, especially since they are in a pot, but they sure are growing. I did take some home and put in the ground, so we will see.
