TONIGHT: Traffic along Richmond Road between Scotland Street and Armistead Avenue may be affected by Verizon fiber work taking place overnight Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.

The work will largely take place in the eastbound parking lanes, but vehicular traffic may be affected when crews cross to the westbound parking lane.

Crews are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. and wrap up by 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.

“No Parking” signs are already posted in affected parking spaces.

While traffic flow should remain largely unaffected, motorists are advised to drive with caution as disruptions may occur.

TOMORROW: A portion of the right westbound lane of Bypass Road bridge will close as City of Williamsburg Landscape crews remove leaning trees.

The work will take place between 8 a.m. and noon Wednesday, Sept. 16. Traffic will shift into the left lane.

Flaggers will be on site to direct vehicles and assist drivers through the work zone.

Motorists should be prepared for a change in traffic patterns and proceed with caution.

MONDAY: A portion of the southbound lane of South Henry Street will close as City of Williamsburg Landscape crews remove an unhealthy tree.

The work will take place between 8:30 and noon Monday, Sept. 14. Traffic will shift into the northbound lane.

Flaggers will be on site to direct vehicles and assist drivers through the work zone.

Motorists should be prepared for a change in traffic patterns and proceed with caution.
