Public Assistance Requested: Colonels Market Burglary Investigation

The Williamsburg Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached images regarding a recent burglary at Colonels Market.

Review of the surveillance footage indicates the involvement of one male and one female subject. The female is observed with a full-sleeve tattoo on her left arm and appears to have a bandage on her right arm; she is wearing a dark face covering. The male subject is observed wearing a red face covering.

We encourage anyone who can identify these individuals or possesses information relevant to this investigation to contact the Williamsburg Police Department via private message or by calling the Whitley County Dispatch Center at (606) 549-6018.

Additional footage will be released as it becomes available. All leads provided will be reviewed by investigators. We appreciate the community’s continued support as we work to identify those involved and proceed with this investigation.

Public Assistance Requested – Colonels Market Burglary Investigation

Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals shown in the attached video footage related to the burglary of Colonels Market.

Additional surveillance footage obtained during the investigation has been released. Based on information developed thus far, the individuals are believed to have ties to the Watts Creek area.

Anyone who can identify either of these subjects or has information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact us by private message through this page or by contacting the Whitley County Dispatch Center at (606) 549-6018.

The Williamsburg Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals in the video below.

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 1:30 AM, Colonel Market was burglarized. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two individuals shown in the attached video.

Williamsburg Police Department Official Press Release

On May 27, 2026, officers were dispatched to Rains Street in reference to an assault complaint involving a male subject who had allegedly assaulted another male individual at a residence and damaged a window before fleeing the scene on foot.

Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect, identified as Derick Carpenter, had fled the area prior to their arrival. A drone was deployed and operated by Assistant Chief White in an effort to locate Carpenter. Assistant Chief White, Assistant Chief Freeman, Sergeant Teague, and Officer Hendrix later located Carpenter in a nearby wooded area. Upon making contact with officers, Carpenter again fled on foot.

Sergeant Teague and Officer Hendrix pursued Carpenter on foot and successfully apprehended him. During the arrest, Carpenter was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Derick Carpenter was arrested and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center on the following charges:

• Assault, 1st Degree – Domestic Violence
• Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree
• Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot)
• Resisting Arrest
• Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
• Contempt of Court Libel/Slander Resistance to Order

Williamsburg Police Department Official Release

On May 22, 2026, following an extensive investigation conducted by Williamsburg Police Department Sergeant Foley, Cory Jack was taken into custody by Officer Chris Brown with the Corbin Police Department. Jack was then lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Jack was charged with trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense – (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine)
