Through WATA’s Student Liberty Fare, K–12 students living in Williamsburg, James City County, and York County can ride WATA buses free of charge!

🚍 Students 12+ ride free by showing the bus operator a school-issued ID
🚍 Digital IDs accepted (such as StudentVUE)
🚍 Free WATA Student Liberty IDs available
🚍 Homeschool students qualify
🚍 Children 11 & under ride free, but must be with an adult

WATA and CultureFix are proud to announce the final winner of the 2026 Bus Art Contest!

The final winning design was selected from the Professional category. Winner Kathleen Burns created two pieces titled “George Washington” and “The Collage of 1776.”

We were excited to unveil the bus last Monday in front of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
