As we raise Old Glory this evening following the observance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we are reminded of the freedoms we are blessed to enjoy today.

When challenged by evil, both foreign and domestic, we are reminded that standing together as a community, respecting our neighbors, and working toward a better tomorrow provides the path to a brighter future.

We are truly blessed to live, work, and serve in such an amazing community, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support we receive from those we are honored to serve.

We will always remember September 11, 2001, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This evening, we had the privilege of honoring the members of the United States Armed Forces.

We are proud to have presented the American Flag during Military Appreciation Night at this evening’s football game. It was an honor to show our support and respect for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our great nation.

We would like to thank Williamsburg Middle/High School for giving us this opportunity to participate and recognize those who have made sacrifices for our freedom.

Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve our country.

One of the many great traditions of Williamsburg Youth Football and Cheerleading and one of our personal favorite traditions at the firehouse is getting to cool off the kids after a hot practice…and this week it has been HOT!

Today we celebrate our independence. For the past 250 years we have had the opportunity of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Independence Day is a wonderful reminder that when we come together as a community with the core foundation built upon respect, resilience, integrity, and pride that all things are possible. Have a safe and relaxing day as we are proud to serve our community on this 4th of July.

On June 5th, 2015 our department lost a tremendous friend, firefighter, and a beloved member of our community in the line of duty. The dedication, service, and sacrifice of Lt. David Knapke will never be forgotten. Because of the unwavering commitment of Lt. Knapke and all those who have gone before us, we continue to strive to uphold our oath to serve and protect our residents with pride, community, and honor.

Rest Easy Lt. Knapke. We have it from here.

Yesterday evening our crews trained on live fire scenarios focusing on fire growth & behavior, extinguishment, search, ventilation, and communication. We were joined by personnel from Township Fire Department and Joint Fire & EMS District. These trainings are critical in preparing us for real life, high risk emergencies.

**We’re extremely grateful for Ellis Farm & Garden for their generous donation of straw for this training.
