National Assistant Principals week was last week during spring break, so we want to take this week to say a special thank you to one of our loyal leaders.

During the month of April we will be recognizing the military-connected children in our school. We will be dressing accordingly every Wednesday to celebrate our students!

April 13th - Wear Red, White, and Blue
April 20th - Wear Purple (the color of all of the military branches combined)
April 27th - Camouflage Day

Hello Matoaka Cardinal Family!

I am so excited to be joining you on the Matoaka team as your Assistant Principal. I am truly honored to be able to work with such a celebrated school and wonderful faculty and staff. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and would like to share some things about me to get us started J. I am born and raised in Williamsburg graduated from Lafayette High school. I then went on to the College of William & Mary for my undergraduate degree and then Virginia Commonwealth University for masters. My husband is also born and raised in Williamsburg, and we have three children and a dog named Bruno. Professionally, I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the classroom as a 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade teacher and then as a School Counselor at Hornsby and Jamestown school communities. Most recently, my experience as a Counselor and Transition Specialist at Merrimac Juvenile Detention Centertruly broadened my horizons and allowed me to pursue my certification in school leadership and administration from Longwood University. As my professional journey has brought me this opportunity, I hope to bring what I have learned from my years as a passionate educator to Matoaka. I look forward to learning, growing, and working with each of you to best serve your student(s) and our school community.
