Thank you to some special groups/people that made our anniversary celebration happen!

Senator Judy Ward, Representative Scott Berger, Rich Brantner, recognition of our service. TJ’s BBQ, amazing pulled pork sandwiches. Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, donation towards food. Cheryl Lane, wonderfully sweet cupcakes. Mike Ginter, hose cart restoration/painting and polishing memorabilia. Fisher’s Party Central, bounce house. Many many volunteers!

WOW!!!!
Amazing does seem to be a big enough word to describe our 100th anniversary party yesterday! The weather was sketchy right away and it didn’t look good, but then it cleared up and was beautiful. The community what came out to support us was incredible. We truly could not do many of the things we do without you! The day was long and it was hot, but it was exactly what we had hoped it would be and more! Thank you to everyone that came out in any way…looking at our display, eating some amazing food, watching the parade, sharing memories and watching the fireworks (that ended just in the nick of time). We truly appreciate Williamsburg! If you couldn’t make it and would like a shirt or challenge coin, we still have some and will be doing an order for shirts (that must be pre-paid), contact Beth Eastep.
Here is a small sampling of our celebration with more to come.
Special thank you to RWBT for providing a standby crew to cover calls for us so we could celebrate. Also THANK you to the departments that came out for our parade. Nothing beats the camaraderie of the fire service. Furthest unit to attend our parade was Pleasant Gap! Our hometown man, Peter Zengel was one of the first to let us know that they wanted to be part of our day. It meant a lot to have ‘one of our own’ sure his current company with us!

We are so blessed by this community! Thank you again to the Williamsburg Church of the Brethren for an amazing snack basket donation! These snacks come in handy when we get back from late calls.

On July 6th, water rescue teams from Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department Station 90 and Geeseytown Community Fire Company held a joint train on the Juniata River. This training was held using a rope system to maneuver a rapid deployment craft or “RDC” to rescue victims down stream. A boat with a motor would be much more effective, but the water was not deep enough to allow that. So, crews used the RDC with a rope system as it would be the only way to perform this same scenario if it were a real rescue. Both crews set up the line system and split up into groups. Each team had a chance to rescue 2 individuals prior to the end of the training. A thank you goes out to all involved for a successful training.
