👖 Denim Day: More Than Just Jeans 👖

Today we recognize Denim Day, a powerful reminder that what someone wears is never an invitation for sexual violence.

Denim Day was established in 1999 after a controversial court ruling in Italy overturned a r**e conviction. The court argued that because the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped remove them—implying consent. This harmful and dangerous reasoning sparked international outrage.

In response, people around the world began wearing denim as a visible way to protest victim blaming and stand in solidarity with survivors.

By wearing denim, we send a clear message:
➡️ Clothing is never consent
➡️ We support survivors
➡️ We stand against victim blaming

Let’s continue to educate, support, and advocate for a culture of respect and accountability—today and every day.

Did you know there are currently NO community residential mental health services available in Lycoming and Clinton Counties?

WE ARE WORKING TO CHANGE THAT!

When support stays local, communities grow stronger. Residential Treatment Facilities for Adults (RTF-A) help individuals already living nearby access the care they need—while prioritizing safety, stability, and the well-being of the entire community. 🏡💙
In fact, RTF-A programs help prevent ER visits, incarceration, and homelessness for individuals by providing the right level of care at the right time.

April is World Autism Month 💙

At The Lycoming-Clinton Joinder Board, we proudly stand with individuals, families, and communities impacted by autism. As a Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, and Autism Services agency, we are committed to promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusion every single day.

Autism is not a one-size-fits-all experience—it is a spectrum of unique strengths, perspectives, and needs. This month, we encourage everyone to listen, learn, and celebrate neurodiversity while continuing to advocate for supports that empower individuals to live full and meaningful lives.

Together, we can build a more inclusive community where everyone is valued, respected, and supported.
