What is Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)?
CVI is a neurological condition where the brain has difficulty processing visual information, despite the eyes being healthy. It's one of the leading causes of visual impairment in children, especially those with other neurological disorders.

Why raise awareness?
Because CVI is not new, but it's alarmingly underdiagnosed!

Key Symptoms of Cortical Visual Impairment:
• Variable Vision
• Reduced Depth Perception
• Delayed Visual Response
• Difficulty with Complex Visual Stimuli
• Preference for Certain Colors
• Preference for Certain Light

Did you know many vision problems can go unnoticed without a professional checkup?
Here are signs your child might need glasses:
• Squinting, rubbing their eyes frequently, or tilting their head.
• Sitting close to the TV or holding tablets right up to their face.
• Complaining of headaches or tired eyes after reading.

Tips to protect their sight:
• Book an eye exam before school starts.
• Wear protective sports goggles during youth sports to prevent injuries.
• Take breaks. Use the 20-20-20 rule to reduce screen strain.

Healthy vision can help ensure a successful school year!
